Literally means Looking For Touble.
Enjoyed myself on this anticipated event. The feeling of being pinned down, bullets (pallets) hissing pass your ears, man shouting for help, people scattering like headless chicken, chaos under fire, hell broke loose, the feeling of being shot at, bloodsheds and not miss out the casualties.
Me myself was been shot twice in the face (with some paint in mouth, taste bitter though), 1 head shot, shoulder & 2 body shot. My head stick out too much during 1st game, therefore my face got "painted". Learn from my previous mistake, and manage to minimized the damage on the 2nd game.

I'm bad on writing and what I do is that I let the pro, Jason http://jaselee.blogspot.com/ write it. Any detail he missed out, I inform him & this the final product.

The Coconut Husk Cave Adventure by Jason Lee

The morning amazing race

As you guys can relate Coconut Husk Cave briefly translates to Gua Tempurung. I was promised excitement of cave adventuring and I was not disappointed. We started late in the morning (7:05 am) as I was packing some first aid kit. I arrived at the rendezvous point and that?s where we started the journey, albeit a little late. During the journey, we?re munching Rachel?s & Shaun?s sandwich, which tasted a little funny until they told us that they have added ?additional ingredient?. Those sandwich with ?potong kulit? and those which not are two different spicy flavors. We then stopped halfway in Taiping?s highway when Kok Hooi asked any of us whether we need to go to the loo. In fact, he is the one that needs to go!

Before the cave-in

Upon reaching the Gua Tempurung ground, I was under the impression of carrying my knapsack with water bottles, ropes, first aid, insect repellent & etc. However, I was only told to have a waterproof flashlight & small battle of water to go. I have to piggyback some of my stuffs to BK & Kok Hooi as I do not have the re-sealable plastic bag. Shaun sprayed a little bug repellent but that was of a little concern because there are some loads of beautiful girls readying to go into the cave as well! Too bad that didn?t last long. The passion died when their boyfriends joined them much later. Just shortly before our journey begins, a large bus carrying KIASU people from the KIASU land arrived.

Into the Bat Cave

We're then taken into man-built steps where we can see many work of nature imitation lots of things like tigers, dragons & jaguars but the most interesting part of the journey is adjusting our eyes to the darkness. After we've reached the end of the walkway, we're taken deep into the cave where our guide asked us to switch off our flashlight. And of all the places I've been, I was never in a place where my eyes cannot see. The total darkness was overwhelming. After about a minute or two, the guide asked us to switch on the light again. I didn't realize by doing the trick, I can see well even in low light.

We followed the guide to walk through a large cavern and were surprised the cavern itself could stretch to a five storey-high building! We then went through a small opening; where I had to crouch really low to get past. Chew on the other hand didn?t face much of a problem as we?ve all anticipated that his height might obstruct him from moving. After a few minutes of journey, then we arrived at a gentle slope. Everybody has to sit on the ground and let their legs and hand guide to the bottom. BK already went down halfway to guide us all while Stella was behind me not lagging in speed at all.

After we came down, we walked through a small stream where Ai Lee started shouting that water went into her shoes. We all had a little laugh and continue walking. We went through some tight spaces but it wasn?t any problem at all. Halfway through, Chew?s precious Reebok shoe give way and the foot sole tore away from the base. Unable to walk normally, he took off the shoe and walk ?chicken legged? the whole journey. At last we saw a sun at the end and were happy that our journey is over.

We then washed our flashlight; Chew tossed his ?salty fish? around. I got up to the bank and Raquel has problem getting him. Shaun gave her a nudge and she felled front. I had to grab her and we started laughing at the incident.

Someone then shouted us to return to the cave. Apparently our journey is only halfway! We all looked at each other in confusion. As we walk back into the cave, a wave of fatigue swept over me. Halfway through the journey, Stella stumbled and Shaun managed to grab her in time. After letting her go, she stumbled again, this time held by Raquel & me but we?re unable to save her. Half of her body already sunk to the water. At first point, we?re afraid that she might feel uncomfortable, but we saw that she?s still smiling. What a tough girl she is! We tugged along following the group; I was thinking how lousy this trip is. We?re not going to do anything fun. As we?re walking and saw the man-made walkway again, I made no comments on this.

Oh and how was I wrong! We proceed through the small portion of the walkway before we went out to trek the rocks again! Then the guide stopped us and asked us to look downwards. It was a 60 degrees non flat slope that every person has to slide downwards. The main group went down first; we?re the last ones to go. Kok Hooi went down as an anchor to support us when we?re sliding down. Raquel shrieked a little when coming down. Chew & Ai Lee were the last ones but she was too panicked to get down. She was shouting, rambling and has little gut to go down and Shaun gives inspiration word to her. Finally she managed to get down and we laughed again at that incident. I was surprised at the teamwork we?ve done. I guess Neo?s decision was correct to send most of the Technical Support agent to go for Team Building activities!

Oh and that was the least fun that is. The real fun is where we?re forced to go through a low opening. We had to wade through cold underground mountain water. Before we went into the tight space, there?s a jam. Shaun then put his butt on the water to accustomate his body to the cold water. He shivers a little and there was laughter again. The opening is kind of like army training where you have to go through those barbed wire crawl field. If you squat around to move, then chances are you?re going to break your back. Those short members have no problem navigating but tall members have to do army crawl to get to the other end. And the best part is that you?d have to go through at least 5 of them! And the funniest part is someone made the sound of zombie* catching up from behind. There is even people imitating the theme from Anaconda 2: The Hunt for the Blood Orchid. After going through the last opening, we?re taken to a small part of the stream before finally we came through the river stream where we started.

We loiter near the stream, cleaning ourselves and equipment and recall all of the funny experiences we went through the adventure. When we look up on our flashlights, we realized that Stella?s has custom made her transparent loy-tape wrapped around the cap. And then we started to joke that every flashlight manufacturer has to go through her inspection before they?re able to be sold on the market. Somewhat like a SIRIM quality inspection.

* Chew and I watched Resident Evil: Apocalypse the night before, so we expect lots of laughs when we?re imitating the zombies.

Chicken, Knights & Castle

We then went for lunch at the famous roti chicken. Kok Hooi is accused to go there to catch a glimpse of the roti chicken girl. Quite to our surprise, the place he took us was a restaurant! We had a really full lunch where we called for the famous roti chicken, then some fat-mee, duck & vegetable. After lunch, we went to buy some chicken cookies, wife cookies, husband cookies, and whatever name is funny pronounced in Cantonese. Kok Hooi is supposed to be a prominent guide to take us to Kellies Castle actually failed to remember his last journey. After much stopping and asking for direction, we arrived at the castle. We paid RM 5 to get in and then went into the ground. Everyone was complaining paying RM 5 is too absurd. So we?re trying to make our money worth. We go around, saw some glass plague and it has some news paper cutting of some ghost sightings on the castle ground! After reading through that, then we saw two elderly Mat Salleh ladies came out from nowhere! We jumped out and joked that the ladies might be the haunting Kellies Castle?

The journey continues when we explore the top part of the building. The top was surprisingly huge and has no fences to cover. It feels like someone might just push you from the edge if you?re not careful. The group then went to the top of the tower. I went up, saw the heights, and got nauseous and went down again. Went down and shared to Stella about my father?s supernatural experience in Maxwell?s Hill, Taiping.

Ai Lee, the scream-queen screamed when she saw how high her position on the roof is. She then screamed again when she looked on the other angle. The funny thing is that she screamed no matter who?s standing beside her or whether she?s alone. After she has settled herself down, she kneeled down at the center that is close to the elevator shaft top opening. She then took a peek into the shaft and screamed to the top of her lungs (again!) due to the fact she?s looking down the shaft, with metal braces protecting the opening!

After the incident with Ai Lee, everyone agreed that our RM 5 is well worth it! Ai Lee was a little mad so we thought of chipping in additional ringgit to pay her RM 5 for a performance that left us laughing. When we left the compound, we realized we missed a few parts of the attraction as well, such as Ostrich! That showed that we haven?t fully utilized our RM 5!

Eyes on the fruits

As in tradition in visiting Ipoh, no one should miss visiting the pomelo stalls selling at the side road. All of us went there to watch ?pomelo?. Stella bought herself a pomelo and she told me it was the first time she?s buying pomelo. BK, Shaun & Raquel also negotiated some prices to get cheaper pomelo but KH & Shaun decided to go sight-seeing for a better looking ?pomelo?. An exchange of words led to laughter again because Shaun was told that the ?pomelo? in stall 36 & 40 looks good. Shaun has mistaken this for the size of the bust!

* Please take note that there is a difference between a pomelo & a ?pomelo?!!!

The temple

We then visited a temple called Ling Sen Tong nearby the stalls. The place was great with four arapaimas* bigger than 6-7 feet swimming around in the shallow pool. Beside it, they have a variety ranging from flower-horns, carp & even a white tailed arowana. After looking through the pool briefly, we skipped to the temple beside. There was a lot of Chinese stone statue on the area. Ai Lee thought of sitting on the Chinese Pegasus but felt embarrassed to sit because all of us are staring at her. After 5 minutes, we saw a child sitting on another animal; everyone encouraged her to sit on that!

The attraction wasn?t the temple feature, or the stone statue, but a really angel-from-heaven just arrived with her family. All the guys were staring at her, commenting how she has the model quality, long legs, pretty face, fair skin & etc. Even KH was giving hint to Shaun about the ?36 topic?!

* Arapaima is the largest freshwater fish exist. You can check out the picture at this URL.

The crab/p porridge

Dinner is our last stop for the day. KH decided to go to Nibong Tebal?s crab porridge. So on the way going to there, we didn?t realize he doesn?t even know how to get there! We discuss around and luckily enough, Ai Lee has contacts on getting us there. After receiving instruction, the two cars fled through the highway at alarming speed and reached the shop an hour and a half later. The shop itself was small but enough to put in roughly about 10-12 tables. We take a seat while Shaun & KH ordered our food.

The girls then went for the toilet while we guys talked about the event that we have went through. After coming back, Ai Lee?s face changed because she has just encountered frogs and she has a frog-phobia. Immediately Shaun asked the group whether we wanted to order frog legs. Ai Lee was going to scream when the group actually considered ordering the dish. Chew even made a joke that they should be half-cook so that the leg twitching should retain when you pick up the leg from the dish! After that, she shouted again when a cat actually brushes her leg while we?re waiting for the food. Now we know she has cat-phobia as well!

And her face changed when Shaun took a call and the making sweet gesture of ?darling? and such. We laughed hard when she frowned over Shaun as we suspected she was jealous over it. In truth, it was a colleague who called Shaun to discuss some matter. KH then talked about all of our flashlights and how Stella?s flashlight could win an award for having multiple layers of adhesive plaster wrap despite the thing itself is already a waterproof.

However, the worst is yet to come. I got up on the next day with back & leg aching from over stress when we're in the cave. Well, I had so much fun that I didn't care anymore.

interesting advanture ! Fri 29-Oct-2004 04:28
